Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences. The Great Hall of The Cooper Union is a New York City institution and has stood for more than a century and is as a bastion of free speech and a witness to the flow of American History and ideas.
The new Cooper.edu site relaunch was a complex, multi-phase project. Developed on a custom-built Drupal CMS, the site features a cross-departmental events and exhibitions calendar, faculty directory, extensive works and portfolio galleries, and campus news. The Cooper Union site was a Communication Arts Webpick of the Week, received The W³ Award in 2012, and a MarCom Award for excellence in marketing and communication.
